Question
What happens if my refund check goes to pay off outstanding debts of mine?

Answer

How long does it take to post money to Other Agency Accounts (OAA)?

Allow one to two weeks for payments to post to OAA, once a payment arrives at the department. Other offsets applied to OAA take two to three weeks

If part of my refund will be held and offset against an outstanding liability of mine, how soon will I get my resulting refund?

After your refund is offset against any outstanding liability, the remaining balance of your refund is processed through your state tax board's computer system's next turnover run. A refund check generally is issued one or two days later.
