Answer

South Dakota does not require a State Income Tax Return for Individual Taxpayers.

There are 9 states that do not require a state individual tax returns to be filed. If you live in Alaska, Florida, Nevada, New Hampshire, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Washington or Wyoming, you only need to file your Federal Return with the IRS.

Note: Tennessee and New Hampshire do have dividend and interest returns that may need to be filed if you meet certain criteria.
