How can I disable a preparer's access to client data?

Answer

WEB Software:

In WEB software you can enable and disable IP address set.

  1. To disable an IP set, go to the Setup Tab > Enable/Disable IP.
  2. Make the IP selection and disable that IP.

In WEB software, to delete (disable) a preparer account, do the following:

  1. Go to your Setup Tab/Preparer Info.
  2. To the right of the preparer data, choose to Delete the account.

Desktop Software:

To disable a preparer account, do the following:

  1. Go to the Setup Tab and select Preparer
  2. Double click on the needed preparer listed from the list on the right side of the screen.
  3. Under the Privelages section just to the right of the preparers entered information, choose to Disable Account.
