Answer

The SureThing Button in Primo does not launch SureThing. Instead, nothing happens or I receive a Run-time error 76 or 53.

You will need to delete and reinstall both Primo and SureThing.

If that does not work try this procedure:

  1. Uninstall all SureThing programs including any Deluxe full version programs. (Start\Settings\Control Panel\Add Remove Programs\Find SureThing and Remove)
  2. Go to Start Menu - Choose Run
  3. Once there type in: regsvr32 /u "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Surething Shared\stcd3control.dll"
  4. Then browse to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Surething Shared - Delete the Surething Shared folder.
  5. Reboot.
  6. Reinstall SureThing.

If the button still produces error messages you may need to adjust some registry entries. (The key values below represent the location of an install using default install settings. You may have to adjust yours to match the actual location of the SureThing program)

  1. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MicroVision\MVApplication1\STCD\InstallDir --Value should be: C:\Program Files\SureThing
  2. HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SOFTWARE\MicroVision\MVApplication1\STCD\InstallDir --Value should be: C:\Program Files\SureThing
  3. HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Applications\stcd.exe\shell\open\command --Value should be: C:\Program Files\SureThing\STCD\STCD.exe "%1"

The 3rd item, if incorrect will produce run-time error 76 or 53.

To edit registry settings go to Start - Run - type "regedt32" - click OK. Browse through the folders until you find the keys above.
