Question
The Bravo / Bravo II will not stay powered on. When it is plugged in it performs initialization and then powers off.

Answer

The Bravo / Bravo II will not stay powered on. When it is plugged in it performs initialization and then powers off.

This can sometimes be caused by a faulty print cartridge. Try the following procedure:

1. Remove both cartridges. Since the unit does not stay powered on you will need to manually remove the cartridges. It may be necessary to unhook the cartridges from the arm. There is a small release tab on the arm above the cartridges that will allow you to accomplish this.

2. Unplug power, USB and Firewire (if applicable).

3. Plug in just the power cord with no cartridges installed. Check to see if the unit stays powered on. If so, attempt to replace the cartridges. Now unplug and plug in the power cord. Check to see if it stays powered on with the same cartridges installed.

  • If it does not stay powered on with the same cartridges installed, you may have defective cartridges - Replace the cartridges.
  • If it does not stay powered on with no cartridges installed, you may have a defective print carriage - Contact tech support for repair procedures.
