Question
What are the different status' of my return?

Answer

There are six general status' you may encounter with your tax return.

Not finished: You started your return but did not finish it. This would be either because you did not complete the payment portion to submit your tax return, or your tax return has been removed from "queued" status at your request so you can make a correction.

Queued: Your tax return is waiting to be sent to the IRS. You can not make any changes to your data. Your tax return will be transmitted within 24 hours (usually less than 24 hours).

Transmitted: Your tax return has been sent to the IRS, and we are waiting to hear back from them. This usually happens within 24 hours after we first transmit it, but system problems at the IRS can make this take as long as 48-72 hours. If your return was transmitted more than 72 hours ago, contact customer service and we will resubmit your return for you.

Rejected: The IRS has returned your tax return to you for correction(s). You need to log in to your return, find the error, and correct it. Our customer service staff would be happy to help you with this. NOTE: Sometimes the error is not fixable, and you are not eligible to e-file. Examples of this include mismatches in names and SSNs, invalid EINs on your W-2s, problems created when multiple people attempt to claim the same dependents, etc.

Accepted: Most tax returns get accepted. If you used the Self-Select PIN program, you are all done, and your tax refund should show up very soon. There is nothing further you need to do, although we recommend printing a copy of your return for your records.  You can print the completed form and instructions from your return's status screen to sign and mail in. (Form 9325 in the federal forms list will provide the date accepted, the submission ID number, and the IRS processing center)

Void: Your return may be voided if you cancel your e-file or if there is a problem where you can not e-file. If your return is Voided, and you do not know why, contact customer service and we will be glad to check it for you.

**If you use our service to create your return and are ineligible to efile, we are not liable to refund our fee. The fee is for calculation of your tax return forms and storage of data, not for efiling your return.   OLT does not charge a fee for e-filing of your return.  If you have any questions regarding our fees, please contact customer service
