Question
How do I know the IRS receives my return?

Answer

The IRS will notify our company that your return was received. Usually the IRS notifies us within 48 hours of transmission. We will send you an email with the status of your return and/or you can log back in to your account to check the status.  With the new IRS MeF system, you can get this acknowledgement within as little as 5 minutes of filing your return so please be sure to check back on your return by logging into it if you do not get an email update in an hour after filing.

If the IRS detects that corrections need to be made, it sends a message to us indicating the error. The error/correction will be posted in your account when you log in and can usually be fixed by you and resubmitted.  Once you make the corrections and resubmit, we can retransmit the return to the IRS.

If you cannot figure out how to make the corrections, contact our Customer Service Department.

Only IRS e-file offers the advantage of being able to timely correct any errors. If errors are found when you paper file, it can take a long time to resolve the problem.

Once the return is accepted, You can call the IRS number to check your refund: 1-800-829-4477. Please note it sometimes takes several weeks to be current.

The IRS website allows you to check the status of your refund http://www.irs.gov/.

The IRS does not provide our company with information regarding your refund. To check the status of your refund, you must contact the IRS.

**If you choose to print and mail your return(s) for filing, OLT does not receive any information related to the status of the return.**
