My clients return was rejected. What is the quickest and easiest way for me to determine the meaning of the error code?

Answer

There are several ways to view error codes.

  1. Within your client return, select the Error Codes link and we will show the error code listing specific to that client return.
  2. When you process the acknowledgement for your client from the E-file > Get E-file Status Tabs, we will display the processed tax returns and if they are rejected, you can view there error code at that time.
  3. Further, to search an error code number, go to the E-file Tab > Federal Error Codes (Or State Error Codes). Type the error number and we will display the discription for that error.
