Question
Teamcenter 10.1.4 - 2 Tier Client login fails with error: com.teamcenter.soa.client.soaruntimeexception 273006

Answer

Symptom

  • ---------------
Teamcenter 10.1.4 - 2 Tier Client login fails with
    com.teamcenter.soa.client.SoaRuntimeException
    com.teamcenter.soa.client.SoaRuntimeException: Teamcenter server failed to
    respond.
This is most likely the result of a crash of the Teamcenter server, or the
Teamcenter server encountering an unrecoverable error. Please check the
Teamcenter server syslog for more details.

    tcserver syslog shows:
    FATAL - 2015/6/09-18:59:23.917 UTC - AH720243.05088.UnknownClient.00001 -
273006 - Unable to obtain master version number -
    Teamcenter.MetaModel.sharedcache at
    D:\workdir\tc1014w0421_win64\src\core\sharedcache\SharedMetadataCacheMgr.cxx(79
    1)
The issue is cached content wasn't being validated and failed.

Hardware/Software Configuration

  • All supported Teamcenter platform.
    Teamcenter 10.1.4

Solution

  • Delete the folowing directories:
    • RAC Folder: %USERPROFILE%\Teamcenter\RAC
    • TC_SHARED_MEMORY_DIR: %temp%\V10000.xxx
  • Turned off the shared memory.
Add these environment variables to %TC_DATA%\tc_profilevars.bat

    set TC_USE_METADATA_SHARED_MEMORY=FALSE
    set TC_NO_TEXTSRV_SHARED_MEMORY=TRUE
    set TC_USE_PREFS_SHARED_MEMORY=FALSE
    set TC_USE_LOV_SHARED_MEMORY=FALSE

Restart Teamcenter Server Manager (Pool manager)

You only need to disable it long enough to get the new system running to a
point where it can regenerate the metadata cache. Once metadata cache is
regenerated on the client, you can turn shared memory on again.

Siemens PLM believes that the problem resulting in error 237006 is fixed in release Tc10.1.4_a01_1 & Tc10.1.5.
