Answer

Is the LX900 networkable?  Can I use a USB to Ethernet Print Server?

The LX900 cannot be shared over the network using standard Windows or Mac printer sharing methods.

However, it will work using a USB to Ethernet Print Server.  You will need a Multi-Function USB Print Server.

Below is a list of print servers we have used:

  • TrendNet Multi Function Wireless N USB Print Server - TEW-MFP1 (Compatible with Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 32bit/64bit, Mac OS 10.6-10.9)

  •  TrendNet Multi Function USB Print Server - TE100-MFP1 (Compatible with Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 32bit/64bit, Mac OS 10.6-10.9)

Note 1: Before setting up the TrendNet Print Server you must connect the printer via USB and install the driver and software on each client computer you intend to have access to the printer.  Make sure that the printer prints locally via USB on each computer.  You can then disconnect the printer and move on to the next computer.

Note 2: You must install the Trendnet USB Control Center Utility on each client computer.  It must be opened and left running.

Note 3: To easily share your printer between multiple computers you must set the USB Control Center Utility to Auto-Connect mode.

Unfortunately, if your print server does not work, Primera Tech Support will be unable to help you get it working.  Even though we have tested the Print Servers above, we cannot guarantee they will work in your network environment.
