Question
Labels are not printing centered using my LX800/810.

Answer

Labels are not printing centered using my LX800/810.

There are several things that can cause this:

Page Size / Paper Size. If you are printing from an application other than Nice Label you may need to set the page size in the application and set the Paper Size in the printer driver.

To change the Paper Size in the printer driver, Click the Start button - Click Printers and Faxes. Right click on the Color Label Printer Icon and select Printing Preferences.

The Page Size option is set to Custom as a default. You can click Properties and key in the dimensions of your label. Make sure the page size in the application is the same as the Paper Size in the driver preferences.

Note: If you are using an application that is not specifically designed for label printing, such as MS Word, make sure to set your page margins to zero.

Left Margin Offset. (Driver Setting) If your label is printing slightly to the left or right fine tuning is needed, increase this setting to move the image to the right on the label; decrease this setting to move the image to the left on the label. The unit of measure is 0.1mm.

TOF Offset. (Driver Setting) TOF stands for Top of Form and this setting allows you to fine tune the alignment of your printing on your label stock. This will be factory calibrated. If fine tuning is needed, increase this setting to move the image down on the label; decrease this setting to move the image up on the label. The unit of measure is 0.1mm.

Sensor position. When using Die-cut labels it generally does not matter what position the sensor is in as long as it is between the left and right side of the label so that it can sense the gap between the labels. However, if you are using circular or other non rectangular die-cut labels make sure the sensor is set to the very top of the label where the shapes are closest together. If the sensor is too far to the right or the left then the printer will still sense the label but the image may be offset downward because the printer will start printing at the wrong position.

The sensor can be adjusted using the slide bar on the inside of the printer. Below the slide bar is a measurement which represents the distance between the edge of the label stock and the sensor. Measure the distance from the edge of the label stock to the center of the through-hole, black line or die-cut label. Set the sensor to this measurement.

Labels are printing horizontally offset (left to right) on the LX800. The image is printing too far to the left or right.
