Does filing electronically increase my chances of getting audited?

Question
Does filing electronically increase my chances of getting audited?

Answer

The chance of an audit of an e-filed return is no greater than a paper return. E-filing provides the same information to the IRS that would be sent when you paper file. It is just sent through a computer in a different format. This allows faster processing by the IRS and in return, allows you to receive your refund quicker.

Because you input the information yourself, your return is considered self-prepared. Our company is not liable for mistakes made on the part of the customer through errors inputting tax information.
