Northwood University encourages users to utilize their mobile devices to access information in their university mailbox. This includes e-mail messages, voice mail messages, calendar items, contacts and task data. â€‹Choose a link below to learn how to add or remove your NU email.

  2. Follow the instructions to add your Northwood email account
If you prefer to use the native email app that comes pre-installed on your mobile device, rather than the Microsoft Outlook app, use the setup below.
  1. Update your iPhone or iPad to the latest operating system
  2. If you are on-campus, disconnect from the northwood WiFi. If not, continue to step 3
  3. Tap Settings on the Home screen
  4. Tap All Apps
  5. Tap Mail
  6. Tap Mail Accounts
  7. Tap Add Account 
  8. Tap Microsoft Exchange
  9. Enter your full email address ([email protected])
  10. Enter a Description (not required)
  11. Tap Next
  12. Tap Sign In
  13. Enter your Northwood Password 
  14. Tap Sign In
    • You will be prompted by Multifactor Authentication (MFA) via your default security method, if you have never added your NU email account to this mobile device.
  15. Tap Accept
  16. Choose what you would like to sync
  17. Tap Save
    • Your email should download after several minutes. 

NOTE: If your mail program is unable to find the settings and asks you to input additional information such as Domain and Server name, please press cancel and repeat the process until your device automatically finds the settings to complete your account.

If you experience difficulties with the steps above please download the Microsoft Outlook App from above.

  1. Update your iPhone or iPad to the latest operating system
  2. Tap Settings on the Home screen
  3. Tap Apps
  4. Tap Mail
  5. Tap Mail Accounts
  6. Tap the Microsoft Exchange Account you want to remove
  7. Tap Delete Account
    • Delete Account warning window will open.
  8. Tap Delete from My Device to finish.

You have successfully deleted your Exchange account.

NOTE:  Android devices vary from one another and the exact steps may slightly be different (If your device asks for a domain/server please input m.outlook.com)

  1. If you are on-campus, disconnect from the northwood WiFi. If not, continue to step 2
  2. Open your app tray and click on Settings
  3. Locate and click on Accounts
  4. From here click on Accounts
  5. Then select Add Account
  6. Select the Email option
  7. Select Exchange or Corporate
  8. Enter your full email address ([email protected])
  9. Enter your Northwood Password 
  10. Click Next
    • You will be prompted by Multifactor Authentication (MFA) via your default security method, if you have never added your NU email account to this mobile device.
  11. On the Remote security administration popup, tap Apply
  12. Choose which items you would like to synchronize and tap Next
  13. On the Phone Administrator screen select Activate
  14. Edit Account Name (optional)
  15. Select Done

Your email should now download. The first download can take several minutes. By default, only the last 3 days of data will sync.

NOTE: Some devices will automatically download a security profile and ask you to accept it. Please click on allow or install and your device should start to sync.

Use the instructions below to remove an Exchange account on your Android device. These steps apply to devices running Android 2.2 or above.

Note: Each Android version might be slightly different and it is likely that the Exchange account will show up as a Corporate Account.

  1. Go to Applications > Email
  2. On the Email screen, bring up the settings menu and tap Accounts
  3. Press and hold the Exchange Account you want to delete until the Menu window opens
  4. On the Menu window, tap Remove Account
  5. On the Remove Account warning window, tap OK or Remove Account to finish

You have successfully deleted your Exchange account.
