Any Optivault with Pioneer 111 drives or later will need to be configured with DVD+R media before any data backup can occur. When you first open the software you should get the following message regarding custom configuration.



If you click configure at this point you will be prompted to place DVD+R media into the drive so that it can be configured. Retrospect will then configure the drive. If you click Ignore or Cancel, you will not be able to perform backup jobs unless you configure the drive. If you go to the Configure menu on the left navigation window and choose Devices, you will see the "No tape or CD/DVD devices found" message.

To configure the drive click the Environment tab in the storage devices dialog (Configure menu on left - Devices). Select the drive from the list. Click the drive/disk icon to Start configuration.



The following screen will appear. Place a blank DVD+R disc into the drive and click Configure.

Configuration will proceed. This will take several minutes. The drive may open and close during this procedure. When it is finished you will receive a message stating configuration was successful.
