Question
The ink in my new cartridge has leaked inside the packaging.

Answer

The ink in my new cartridge has leaked inside the packaging.

Most ink leakage is due to pressure differentials when transporting cartridges by air or excessive vibration when transporting by ground. Ink leakage typically happens with black cartridges because the ink nozzles are larger than in the color cartridges. If an ink cartridge leaks it is still useable. Simply clean off the ink and insert the cartridge into the printer. Typically only 1/1000 of the cartridge's total ink leaks inside the packaging. To compensate for this, the cartridges are overfilled to ensure you always get the amount of ink advertised.
