Question
Will the LX800 print on preprinted label stock?

Answer

Will the LX800 print on preprinted label stock?

Yes, it can if the following conditions are met:

1. To calibrate the label sensor you must separate the first label (or first 5 inches) from the label backing before you load the label stock into the printer. Now feed the label stock into the printer. This allows the LX800 to differentiate between the backing the printable area.

2. The loop sensor can be affected by preprinted stock since it is calibrated to see white only. If there are large black areas of preprinted area, the loop sensor may cause the stock feed roller that the stock is placed on to perform erratically. The loop sensor maintains a slack loop under the stock so that the printer can easily take in the label stock. The loop sensor reads the label stock at approximately 3/4 inch from the left side of the printer. Stock with preprinted portions that are out of this range (more to the right of the label) will be compatible. Stock that has small portions of preprinting in this range probably will be compatible.
