The pause light on the LX800/LX810/LX900 starts flashing when I try to print. I receive the message "It appears the label stock may be empty."
If you receive this message, or you see this flashing light indicator you may be out of label stock or nearing the end of your stock. Replace the label stock.
If you have a substantial amount of label stock remaining on the roll or if it is a new roll, and you still get this message, the loop sensor may not be sensing a loop under the label. This loop is necessary in order to maintain enough slack to properly feed the stock through the printer. One of the following solutions may be applicable:
Near End of Roll. Sometimes this loop is more difficult to maintain at the end of a roll. (30 or less labels remaining) Press the pause LED to cancel the error. Make sure the loop below the stock is low enough so that it nearly touches the metal visor at the bottom of the printer. If necessary, manually adjust the loop to print the last few labels on the roll.
Debris on Roller. The roller may not be properly creating the loop. Check for a loop under the roller. If the loop is not present, try cleaning any debris from the roller. Cardboard debris from the label rolls can build up on this roller and cause it to slip. If it slips often enough the loop will not be properly created.
Roll Guide. The roll guide on the roll arm should be slid firmly against the roll of label stock. The guide will back off slightly to the correct position. If it does not back off, the roll will not move freely and a loop may not be created, tripping the loop sensor. The guide can be manually pulled away from the roll slightly if it does not do so automatically.
Ambient Light. The loop sensor can be affected by ambient light. Make sure to keep the cover closed when printing.
