The disc comes loose and moves around in the printer tray during printing.  The printed image on my disc is skewed or squished.  While printing I can hear the disc wobbling around.

As the tray retracts into the printer with the disc in the tray a metal brace moves forward from the back of the printer tray which pushes the CD forward so that it is secure in the tray for the printer.

Several things can prevent the CD/DVD from being securely held in place.

1. Ink on the Tray. Ink on the tray can cause the CD/DVD to stick when the metal brace attempts to push the CD forward.  If the CD sticks, it is not going to be pushed all the way to the front of the tray and will not be held secure for printing.  Clean the tray with rubbing alcohol or some other cleaner.

2. Calibration.

Composer XL/Pro/MAX: If you are using the printer with an autoloader or duplicator that automatically places the CD/DVD in the tray, the arm may not be dropping the CD/DVD directly in the center of the tray.

-Calibrate the printer to the Composr XL/Pro using the instructions in this article.
-Calibrate the printer to the CompserMAX using the instructions in this article.

Bravo: The arm may not be placing the disc properly in the tray.  It could be out of calibration.  Refer to this article for calibration instructions.

3. Media Design/Defects. Some media has rounded edges which can cause the discs to slip out of the tray when the metal brace pushes the CD forward.  Try new media.  Make sure it has a square edge and not a beveled edge.  Also, some media may be warped.  This can cause it to slip out of the tray.  To test for this, set the disc on a table and press on the outer edge.  If the other side moves off the table, you have a warped disc.

4. Teflon Tape. In some cases the slippery Teflon tape that is placed on the tray to aid the metal brace in pushing the CD forward may have come loose or come off entirely.  If it comes off, the residue can cause media to stick at that point instead of sliding forward.  Clean the tray and contact tech support for more tape.
