How To #9 - Step 2B Send Tracer Found Case Form

Answer

Send the borrower/claimant the Tracer Found Case Form. Using the process learned in How To #7 for creating a letter select "Tracer Found Case Form-NEW" from the bottom of the letters list for the borrower/claimant.

This form must be signed by the borrower/claimant, but does NOT need to be notarized. Then this form will be sent back to you, and you will submit it to HUD. When HUD receives the Tracer Found Case Form they will send the borrower the HUD-27050-B form

CASE NUMBER

This is filled out by you, the processor, after you receive the completed form back from the claimant.

This information is input by the software based on what is input on the claimant's Individual Record.

Date Title Acquired, Date Property Sold, If Applicable, and Date Mortgage Was Paid Off

This information is input by the claimant based on the information in their Proof of Ownership documentation. Here is some information to help them complete this section.

    Date Title Acquired: This is the date the loan was opened.
    Date Property Sold, If Applicable: This is the date the borrower sold the property. Not all borrowers sold their property, they simply refinanced to a different loan.
    Date Mortgage Was Paid Off: This is the date the borrower paid off or refinanced the loan.

Signature Block

Once the claimant has filled out the necessary information and has signed, they will send the form back to you. When you receive the form you will add the case number and submit it to HUD by mail.
